Track work delayed – delays between Helsinki and Kupittaa

Train traffic will return to the Helsinki-Turku line on Monday morning 29 July. Due to the delayed completion of the track work by the Finnish Transport Agency, long-distance trains will be delayed by about 15-20 minutes. Please mind the delays by allowing sufficient time for travel.

You can follow the changes to train services on our website at On Track page.

Due to the delayed track work, you can change or cancel your train tickets between Helsinki and Kupittaa or intermediate stations for the period 29 July to 4 August free of charge.

This is how to change or cancel your journey:

  • Call our customer support (tel. 0100 3232 (price 0,06 €/min + mpm/pvm), there is a charge for waiting on hold)
  • Contact us via vr.fi chat
  • To avoid customer service queues, you can also change or cancel your trip yourself on vr.fi or the VR Matkalla app. You can claim compensation for the costs of the change or cancellation afterwards by filling in a claim form.

The same change and cancellation rights also apply to other journeys that include, for example, a connection on the line between Helsinki and Turku. If the delays cause major changes to your travel plans or a delay of more than one hour from your final destination, you may be entitled to compensation. Find out more about your rights as a passenger.
