Terms of the Start your summer journey offer
Tickets for the summer and upgrades to Ekstra Class at a discounted price
- The sales period for special offer tickets is 8–24 May 2026. Normal discounts are available on special offer tickets.
- Special offer tickets are available for journeys between 18 June and 9 August on all our long-distance traffic routes.
- During the offer period (8–24 May), you can also upgrade a ticket purchased for the period from 18 June to 9 August to Ekstra Relaxed, Ekstra Calm or Ekstra Plus at a more affordable starting price. The price for an Ekstra Class update can be as inexpensive as EUR 2.70. No separate passenger group-specific discounts are applicable to the prices of Ekstra Class seats.
- There is a limited number of tickets available.
Sales locations
- You can buy special offer tickets at vr.fi, the VR Matkalla app, ticket vending machines, Meeting point in Helsinki and R-kioski shops. You can also purchase a special offer ticket by calling our customer service at the 0600 41 900 (3,55 € / answered call + lnc/mcc). Customer service can be reached Mon–Fri from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sat–Sun from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Terms and conditions for changes and cancellations
- Special offer tickets are subject to the same change and cancellation terms and conditions as normally priced long-distance traffic single tickets.
By train to ski resorts in Lapland
Travelling to Lapland is comfortable by train and smooth connections! Search for a journey to your destination and enjoy a relaxed night train journey to Rovaniemi, Kolari or Kemijärvi. From the train station, you can continue your journey using e.g. a bus or rental car.
