Effects of the storm Hannes to train traffic on Dec 29-31

The effects of the Hannes storm that began on Saturday are still visible in train traffic until December 31. Storm winds have knocked trees onto the tracks and caused damage to the electricity network, which the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency is currently repairing. The storm’s impact is particularly evident between Seinäjoki and Ylivieska, where trains are experiencing delays of 10-30 minutes.

The Hannes storm has caused multiple electrical faults to the track on the main line between Seinäjoki and Oulu, which may lead to train delays. The effects are most visible between Seinäjoki and Ylivieska, where trains are expected to experience delays of approximately 10-30 minutes. Repairs are currently underway by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. According to their estimate, the damages will be repaired on December 31st.
