Train traffic between Helsinki and Kupittaa will return to normal on August 5

Track work for the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Espoo Rail Line project caused a five-week traffic interruption on the west-side Coastal Railway from 24 June to 28 July. Due to the delayed track work, train traffic started with special arrangements. Long-distance trains will run normally between Helsinki and Kupittaa starting from Monday, August 5. HSL's commuter traffic will also return to normal.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Kupittaa–Turku railway project will continue until December 2024, after which our long-distance trains will be able to continue their journey to the vicinity of the Logomo bridge at the new Turku railway station, Opens in a new tab, which will open in August. Other train traffic will start using the new railway station as early as 5 August.

HSL Commuter Traffic

HSL's commuter traffic will also return to normal starting from Monday, August 5. More information at HSL.fi, Opens in a new tab.

Changes and Cancellations

Changes and cancellations were free of charge for train tickets between Helsinki and Kupittaa or their intermediate stations, purchased for travel between July 29 and August 4, due to the extension of the track disruption. Change and cancellation fees will return to normal for trips from August 5 onward.
