Commuter voucher

Benefit offered by the employer

An employer-subsidized public transport ticket is a fringe benefit that an employer arranges and pays for. The employer may cover all or some of the ticket’s cost. The employer-subsidized public transport ticket is always personal and intended for trips between a person’s home and job.

VR’s commuter vouchers

You may cover all or part of an employer-subsidized public transport ticket’s cost with a commuter voucher that an employer has purchased. When travelling with us, a season ticket functions as an employer-subsidized public transport ticket.

Information about VR’s commuter vouchers

  • Our commuter vouchers are valued at 5, 10, 20 and 50 euros. It is also possible to buy a voucher with a custom value.
  • An employee may use a commuter voucher to buy a personal season ticket from service station ticket sales. The employee will pay for any remaining costs after the voucher has been used.
  • The price of the season ticket will be calculated on the basis of route distance and season length. The longer the season you choose, the cheaper you will travel.
