Riihimäki-Hanko summer train

The local train service between Riihimäki and Hanko, which debuted last summer, was a pleasant surprise! This summer, we want to respond to the high level of interest and offer a direct connection to the unique town of Hanko every day of the week from June 22 to July 26, 2026. The service will be operated using familiar commuter trains with accessible rolling stock. The journey from Riihimäki to Hanko takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The route will be opened for the summer because track work is being carried out between Helsinki and Karjaa as part of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Espoo urban rail project, freeing up rolling stock for the summer route.

The train departs daily from Riihimäki at 10:14 a.m. and arrives in Hanko at 12:31 p.m. Trains depart from Hanko for the return trip at 5:30 p.m. and arrive in Riihimäki at 7:43 p.m.
