Impacts of the Espoo Rail Line project on train traffic

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Espoo Rail Line project will cause changes in train traffic between Helsinki and Turku, starting from May 2025. From Monday, 23 June to Sunday, 27 July 2025, there will be a traffic interruption between Helsinki and Karjaa. Trains between Karjaa and Turku will run at longer intervals.

Traffic interruption in the summer

From Monday, 23 June to Sunday, 27 July, train traffic between Helsinki Central Railway Station and Karjaa will be at a complete standstill.

During the traffic interruption, we will operate traffic between Helsinki and Turku in three different ways:

A combination of a track work bus and long-distance train. A track work bus will run between Helsinki and Karjaa, and there will be a change to a long-distance train in Karjaa. There will also be a connection to the H commuter train from Karjaa. A direct long-distance train connection from Karjaa to the Port of Turku or a long-distance train connection with an exchange is also available at the ships' travel times. You can find more detailed information about the services to the port through the travel search.

Track work bus via minor stations. This track work bus also runs to the Port of Turku at the ships' travel times. You can find more detailed information about the services to the port through the travel search.

Fast track work bus. Departure from Helsinki, the track work bus stops only at Piihovi in Salo, Kupittaa and Turku.

You can use our journey search to find a suitable route option for you.
