Impact of track works on R-train services between Kerava and Riihimäki

Track works are affecting train traffic between Kerava and Riihimäki. As a result, R train services may experience delays of approximately 5 to 15 minutes.

The Helsinki–Riihimäki rail line project, carried out by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, is developing Finland’s busiest main railway line section and improving its capacity and traffic flow. As part of the project, additional tracks are being built between Kerava and Järvenpää, as well as between Järvenpää and Jokela. Construction work is being carried out in phases, and the second phase of the project will continue until 2033.

Due to the construction work, R train services between Kerava and Riihimäki may experience delays of approximately 5 to 15 minutes. Passengers are advised to allow extra travel time and take possible delays into account, especially when using connecting services. VR:n vihreällä on nyt rekisteröity väritavaramerkki

Green is now VR’s green. VR’s distinctive green color has been registered as a color trademark in Finland for passenger rail services. The registration is a significant recognition of long-term brand-building efforts: Finns associate the color green exceptionally strongly with VR, and now one of the company’s most recognizable brand assets has also received official protection.
