Let St. Petersburg mesmerise you! The stylish Allegro, is an environmentally friendly way to travel to the vibrant metropolis. Allegro is an international train. There is both a Russian and a Finnish conductor providing assistance to you during the entire journey and border control is performed on the train.

Allegro stops in Pasila, Tikkurila, Lahti, Kouvola, Vainikkala border station and Vyborg.

With four daily Allegro train round trips it’s easy to travel to St. Petersburg. You can for example take the first train of the day and return in the evening. Tickets from Helsinki to St. Petersburg start from EUR 29.

Take the kids to Allegro

Allegro Kids is a children’s play area that makes the train trip a fun experience. The play area has a small locomotive, an exciting tower with domes and books for children. Allegro also has a place for prams and an accessible toilet.

Take your pet with you

Pets travel with their owner in Allegro’s 2nd class for an additional charge of EUR 15. You can buy a seat for a pet at the station ticket office or from VR customer service: 0600 41 900 (2 € / answered call + LNC)

Allegro Bistro offers high-quality restaurant services on your trip to St. Petersburg. Enjoy pelmeni or champagne, for instance! The entire Allegro is licensed for alcohol consumption so you can also toast with champagne in your own seat.

Opening celebrations on 12 December 2010

Allegro replaced the Sibelius and Repin express trains between Helsinki and St. Petersburg. The opening ceremony of the new train connection, Allegro’s first trip, was participated in by President of Finland Tarja Halonen and Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin, who boarded the train at Vyborg.
