The Saver ticket is valid on the date and train stated on the ticket. No additional discounts are offered for the always affordable Saver ticket.
The Saver ticket can be changed for a fee before your departure and cancelled if you have paid the cancellation fee when purchasing the ticket.
Disabled passengers travelling with a Saver ticket are entitled to bring along an assistant travel free of charge, when the assistant is issued a free assistant's ticket upon purchase of the ticket. Disabled passengers
Travel in comfort
You can upgrade your passenger comfort by purchasing an Extra Class seat or seat in the upper deck compartment of the DuettoPlus restaurant car. The price of seat bookings depends on the distance travelled.

See examples of the Saver ticket fare. When purchasing a ticket at the station or R-kioski convenience store, a service charge of 1 € will be added to the price of each ticket.
You can purchase a Saver ticket on the VR Online Shop, VR Mobile, station ticket offices, ticket vending machines, by phone via VR Customer Care, R-kioski convenience stores, travel agencies and VR sales agents/Matkahuolto service points (see more information) 60 days before the departure.

You can pay directly for the Basic ticket at VR Mobile, the VR Online Shop, ticket vending machines or onboard the train to the conductor. For tickets bought at other purchasing locations:

Pick up the ticket at the station or a ticket vending machine or have the ticket sent to you as an e-mail or as an SMS to your mobile phone.
Saver tickets may be changed at ticket offices or by phone from VR Customer Care tel. 0203 32041 (0,088 €/min) before departure (service charge 5 €/change/person). The date or time of departure can be changed (not the route or the direction). If a ticket is changed for a more expensive train service the difference in prices is charged. The difference is not refunded when changing to a less expensive departure.
You may cancel a Saver ticket before your train's departure, provided that you have paid the 10 € Cancellation insurance upon purchasing the ticket. You may also pay the Cancellation insurance when making changes to the ticket. You can claim your refund at station ticket offices or VR Customer Care; refunds may be claimed from R-kioski convenience stores only if the tickets were purchased there.
