Salla – in the middle of nowhere

In Salla you can experience the wilderness just as you have always dreamed it to be. This dream destination for every outdoor enthusiast offers more than 300 kilometres of marked hiking trails and several mountain bike paths in varying terrain. The Oulanka National Park, the Karhunkierros trail – the hiking destination of the year - as well as the Tuntsa wilderness area in the north of Salla are magnificent destinations.

Local guides can take you on a canoe trip to Oulanka National Park, a hike to the summit of a fell in the midnight sun, a ride in an all-terrain vehicle into the shadows of the wilderness, or introduce you to local reindeer herding culture at the Salla Reindeer Park. You can get a taste of Salla's eventful history on the Winter War battlefields, or at the Museum of War and Reconstruction in Salla. The Frisbee® golf range which was completed on the side of the Sallatunturi Fell last summer offers fun for family and friends.

When arriving in Salla it is possible to forget everyday worries, leave the stress back home and enjoy the peace of the wild and the relaxed way of living to full effect.
