Long-distance train ticket changes and cancellations

 
To change or cancel a train ticket you will need a ticket order number which you find on your ticket or on the order confirmation delivered in connection with your ticket.
 
Ticket Changes Cancellation
Basic ticket Basic tickets may be changed at ticket offices or by phone from VR Customer Care before the train's departure (service charge €5/change). If a ticket is changed for a more expensive train service the difference in prices is charged. The difference is not refunded when changing to a less expensive train type. The difference is not refunded when changing to a less expensive train. You may cancel a Basic ticket provided that you have paid the 10 € Cancellation insurance upon purchasing the ticket. You can claim your refund at station ticket offices or VR Customer Care; refunds may be claimed from R-kioski convenience stores only if the tickets were purchased there. Saver ticket Saver tickets may be changed at ticket offices or by phone from VR Customer Care before the train's departure (service charge €5/change). Group ticket The terms and conditions of payment, chances and cancellation depend on the size of the group and the departure day. CarTrain journeys You can make changes to the CarTrain package at ticket offices or by phone via VR Customer Care seven days before the journey, the service charge is 10% of the ticket price. If you haven't paid the ticket yet or you have purchased the ticket from VR Customer Care you can also cancel it by phone (cancellation charge 10 % of the ticket price).
Sleeping cars You may change a Basic ticket which includes a berth or sleeping compartment at a ticket office or by phone via VR Customer Care before the train's departure (service charge €5/change). If a ticket is changed for a more expensive train service the difference in prices is charged. Season tickets No changes. No cancellations.
Multi-tickets No changes. No cancellations.
Corporate tickets Corporate tickets can be changed without charge at station ticket offices or by calling VR Customer Care on 0203 32039 before the departure or up to 24 hours after the departure. Please note! If a ticket is changed for a more expensive train service the difference in prices is charged. The difference is not refunded when changing to a less expensive train service. Corporate tickets may be cancelled before the departure at ticket offices at service stations or by calling VR Customer Care on 0203 32039 (cancellation fee €10).

 

Long-distant services ticket changes and cancellations

You can change the date and time of traveling (not the route) or cancel it entirely before the journey for a cancellation fee.
