Laptops and mobile phones onboard
VR onboard wlan is now accessible in addition to Pendolinos on double-deck sleeping cars and on all InterCity trains. The wireless Internet is accessible free of charge and access does not require a password.
In all new and reconditioned cars, e.g. Pendolino and InterCity trains, mobile phone audibility has been amplified. Please use the mobile phone booths whenever available in the trains.
VR has increased the number of in-seat power sockets available in InterCity and Pendolino trains to charge e.g. laptops or mobile phones.

Mobile phone coverage has been improved in cooperation with TeliaSonera. The new 3G amplifiers on long-distance trains enhance TeliaSonera, Elisa and DNA mobile phone coverage on trains.
Mobile phone audibility locally deteriorates by, e.g. tunnels, rock cuttings, bad weather conditions and jammed simultaneous mobile phone use.
Seats with power sockets
Long-distance passenger coaches are equipped with power sockets as follows:
- Pendolino trains are being fitted with additional power sockets.
- InterCity and InterCity2 trains have power sockets in working compartments, family compartments, on the intermediate deck and in all single and double deck coaches so that there is one power socket for every two seats. Some double-deck coaches have in-seat power outlets at every seat.
- Day express trains have power sockets in some coaches at seats by a table.
- Blue sleeping-cars in night have power sockets for shaver use only. New double-deck sleeping cars have power sockets suitable for powering laptops and charging mobile phones. There may, however, be breaks in the power supply.
