Assistance service


Assistance service is available at 37 largest stations, and also at the Allegro and Tolstoi train’s stations in Finland and St. Petersburg. The request for assistance can be made up to 36 hours before the journey.
  • Call VR Customer Support at 0800 166 888 (Free Of Charge) between Mon–Fri at 5–22, Sat–Sun and Bank Holidays at 7–22 or

  • Contact booking offices at VR stations (for station opening hours visit to the Station Services page).

  • Request for assistance at Allegro’s St. Petersburg station must be made 24 hours before travel by calling number below:

    In Russia: +7 (800) 775-00-00, press dial 1 (calls within Russia free of charge)

    From outside of Russia: +7 (499) 605-20-00 (charges according to your operator)

For ensuring optimum service, you should include the following information in the assistance request:

  • Your day of travel
  • Your route (from – to)
  • Train numbers and departure times
  • Car and seat numbers
  • Need for assistance
  • Number of pieces of luggage
  • Other special considerations (such as the aids you use)
  • Your contact information and birth date

Make sure that you arrive at the agreed location no later than 20 minutes before the departure.

Services for the disabled

Wheelchair icon A wheelchair sign in the timetable shows that the train is equipped with services for the disabled and the passenger cars with wheelchair spaces are marked with the same symbol.
