Pendolino trains
The new tilt-body Pendolino train fleet enables travelling at 30 to 40% higher speeds, up to 220 km/h, in comparison with conventional trains. Each line section has, however, its own speed limits. The trains are manufactured by Alstom of Italy.
The pressure-tight tilt-body ensures a steady speed maintained even in curves and smooth and quiet travelling also when running at top speeds or in a tunnel.

Fares
Pendolino tickets are reasonably priced despite the numerous benefits the train offers. Even though Pendolino trains represent the most expensive train type operated by VR there is little difference in comparison with InterCity trains. If you book your ticket beforehand the seat reservation is included in the fare.
