Information on trains

The train is an environmentally friendly and efficient form of transport. Rail traffic produces less carbon dioxide and uses less energy than other forms of transport. By choosing the train you can contribute to the well-being of the environment.

VR's new rolling stock is one factor which increases environmental friendliness. E.g. over 50% of long-distance trains and commuter trains can reuse some of the electricity generated by breaking.
