Travelling with a helper

  • A helper accompanying a sight-impaired or a mobility-impaired passenger may travel free of charge.
  • The passenger must have a full-price adult ticket, a senior or a pensioner ticket, a student discount ticket or a junior ticket. The tickets of a sight-impaired passenger or a passenger in a wheelchair and his/her helper must be purchased together.
  • Aids used by a mobility-impaired passenger are transported as luggage free of charge on trains with services for the disabled or if the passenger is accompanied by a personal helper.

Travelling with a guide or a helper dog

  • A passenger accompanied by a guide or a helper dog may occupy the space intended for the disabled. In that case the dog can travel free of charge.
  • A pet charge must be paid for the guide or the helper dog if the passenger is accompanied by a helper entitled to travel free of charge.
  • On a sleeping car, a guide or a helper dog can travel free of charge when accompanied by the owner. The passenger must travel in the end compartment and book it for his/her exclusive use.
  • If a passenger travels in the end compartment of a sleeping car and is only accompanied by a guide or a helper dog, he/she may travel with a second class ticket and is charged the price of a second class berth.

in the timetable

A wheelchair sign in the timetable shows that the train is equipped with services for the disabled and the passenger cars with wheelchair spaces are marked with the same symbol.
