Employment commuting pass
An employment commuting pass refers to a public transport pass that is partly paid by the employer. Should the employer pay max. 25 per cent of the price of the pass, this share is not assessed as the employee's taxable income. The employer and the employee shall agree on the division of the expenses incurred by the pass considered as a fringe benefit. The employer decides on the awarding of an employment commuting pass.
The employment commuting pass is designed for travels between work and home with no restrictions as for the number of journeys or the day and hour of travel.

The VR employment commuting pass is a 30 days pass
- It entitles to illimited travel on the section and in the train category specified in the pass
- It is a personal 2nd class train pass.
- It is issued as a long-distance pass or in commuter services, as a zone pass.
- The pass may be purchased as follows:
- The employer purchases a 30 days pass to an employee.
- The employer purchases VR commuting vouchers that the employee uses as a part payment of a 30 days pass.
- Employment commuting passes may be purchased in VR station booking offices.
The HSL employment commuting pass is a HSL area season pass
- The pass may be purchased as follows:
- The employer purchases a 30 days pass to an employee.
- The employer purchases VR commuting vouchers that the employee uses as a part payment of a 30 days pass.
- Passes may be purchased at railway stations within the HSL area.
- The validity of the passes ranges from 14 to 365 days.
- You may use your personal travel card, on which you may load a period ticket or value.
