Group discounts
VR offers inexpensive business and leisure travels. Even big groups are ensured enjoyable rail journeys in an own car or compartment.
Group tickets for long-distance traffic are available in VR station Booking offices and at VR's agents'. Ticket vending machines and VR's Online shop sell tickets for 3-8 person groups, and 3-5 person groups may purchase their group tickets aboard the train.
Group discounts 15% or 20 % on long-distance journeys
- 3-10 person groups, -15%
- min. 11 person groups, -20%
- not granted on junior tickets, but children are considered as members of a group
- not granted on discount tickets; passengers travelling with a discount ticket are not considered as members of a group.
You do not receive a group discount from the price of a junior ticket but children are taken into account when group size is calculated.
Senior citizen groups and under 65 yrs pensioner groups, 50% discount
- Persons of min. 65 yrs of age and holders of a pensioner's card approved by VR are entitled to the group discount referred to.
Student groups, 50% discount
- School children and students of min. 17 yrs of age are entitled to the group discount referred to.
- The group members shall produce a document certifying their meeting of the relevant student discount conditions.
- The group shall include at least one supervisor.
Group discounts are not applicable to junior tickets but children are considered in the definition of the size of the group.
