Ticket sales points
You can buy domestic train tickets as follows:

Train tickets may be booked via VR Customer Care and paid and picked up in an R-kiosk or a ticket vending machine.
*An exception are night commuter train services from Helsinki railway station during the weekend when passengers have to present a valid ticket at the platform before boarding the train.
VR Online Shop
Choose a suitable connection from the Journey Search and proceed to purchase tickets. You can purchase the most common VR tickets with seat reservation in the Online Shop on all weekdays from 6.00 to 23.30. You can also buy 30 day passes for commuter trains in the Online Shop.
VR station booking offices
Train tickets are on sale at about 40 railway stations in different parts of the country. To check the station with booking offices, their open hours and services go to the Station information pages.
Ticket vending machines
In the vending machines, you may purchase long-distance and commuter train tickets, pay and collect train tickets, sleeping-berth tickets and car-carrier tickets ordered by telephone, and print train tickets purchased via Internet.
VR Customer Care
Train tickets may be booked via VR Customer Care, 0600 41 900, and paid and picked up at a VR station booking office, in an R-kiosk or a ticket vending machine.
R-kiosks
VR train long-distance train tickets may be paid and collected at an R-kiosk. The tickets are first to be booked at VR Customer Care, 0600 41 900 (price of call, €1 + local network charge), and then picked up at an R-kiosk by producing a booking number. No commission is charged for tickets picked up at an R-kiosk. Check the closest R-kiosk and opening hours on R-kiosk web site.
VR sales agents
VR long-distance train tickets are sold by travel agencies and other sales agents in different parts of the country. To check the sales point locations, please call VR Customer Care, 0600 41 900.
Train conductors
In long-distance trains you can buy tickets without a reserved seat. A €3.00 service fee is charged for tickets purchased onboard trains (€6.00 in Pendolino trains) when the station booking office is open at the time of departure of the train.
In commuter trains tickets can be purchased in the ticket vending compartment so please check the location of the ticket vending coach when boarding the train. Conductors sell only single tickets onboard trains.
The ticket selling coach stops at the station at the ticket selling coach yellow sign. Ticket vending compartments are marked with a ticket vending sign with a blue background.
Note! Onboard trains, Visa Electron cards are not accepted as means of payment.
