Means of payment of train tickets
Train tickets may be paid as follows:
- VR station booking offices accept cash payments, bank card payments, VISA, OK, Eurocard, Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express card, Visa Electron card payments and VR Travel account card payments.
- Ticket vending machines accept payments by the above credit cards with the exception of foreign credit cards.
- In VR Online shop via Nordea, Sampo Pankki, Osuuspankki, Aktia, Säästöpankki, Paikallisosuuspankki and Tapiola Pankki web payment services or by using Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and American Express charge cards or VR Travel account card payments
- R-kiosks cash payment and payment by charge card and credit card accepted by R-kiosks. VR Travel Account cards used by corporate customers are not accepted.
Ticket booking
Book train tickets by phone from VR Customer Care, station ticket offices or VR sales agents 8 weeks before the travel date.
- Booked tickets shall be paid two days before the travel date at the latest.
- If the travel date is near holidays tickets shall be paid one week before the travel date.
- Tickets containing berths shall be paid two days and in high season two weeks before the travel date.
- The last date of payment is communicated when you book tickets.

Please remember that Visa Electron is not accepted as means of payment onboard trains!
