Journey.fi allows you to search for train services and local connecting services at the same time. The service includes in addition to train services local transport connections for 21 cities.

Connections in Helsinki region

Helsinki region (Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa) connection services are conveniently accessible via HSL Journey Planner. Helsinki regions is well serviced by buses, metro and trams. You can search for walking and cycle routes in addition to public transport connections.

TrainBuses

VR cooperates with coach companies regarding TrainBus services on a number of line sections to ensure fluent connection services. There are a total of 32 TrainBus localities of which 19 use a joint ticket for trains and buses.

• VR Journey Search shows TrainBus timetables on the following routes: Karjaa-Hanko, Kokemäki-Rauma (F, Su), Seinäjoki-Vaasa, Pännäinen-Pietarsaari, Kuopio-Iisalmi (1 service), Joensuu-Lieksa-Nurmes, Oulu-Kajaani-Juuka-Joensuu, Pieksämäki-Varkaus-Joensuu, Parikkala-Savonlinna-Pieksämäki, Iisalmi-Kiuruvesi-Kokkola, Tampere-Jyväskylä, Vihanti-Raahe ja Rauma-Turku. You can travel with a TrainBus ticket on these routes.
• TrainBus tickets are also available for train trips to Jyväskylä, Kajaani, Kemi, Kemijärvi, Kolari, Kontiomäki, Oulu or Rovaniemi and the connecting coach service stated in the timetable from these stations and the return trip to the station. Connections to airports and harbours

Connections to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

Tikkurila railway station has good connections to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. All long-distance trains on the main line stop at Tikkurila (not P 274 from Kemijärvi to Helsinki). There are also good bus connections from Helsinki railway station to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Connections to Tampere-Pirkkala Airport

Tampere railway station has a bus connection (Tokeen liikenne) to Tampere-Pirkkala airport for Ryanair passengers. There is also a taxi and Express taxi service, and from Pyynikintori and Keskustori there are buses running to the airport.
