Construction of Tikkurila station complex

Construction of the Tikkurila station complex started at the end of October 2012. The station park and ride parking areas and access routes changed when the construction work started. At the same time the Tikkurila taxi station was relocated to a distance of 100 metres on Asematie street next to shopping centre Tikkuri.

The car park with 130 parking spaces which is closest to the station can no longer be used as it is inside the construction site. Park and ride customers can now use the 215 new parking spaces on the Jokiniemi side of the line and the city is prepared to offer additional temporary park and ride parking spaces should the need arise.

Construction of the station bridge connected to the new station complex starts in early 2013. At that time there will be further changes to park and ride facilities. Construction of the Tikkurila station bridge is part of The Finnish Transport Agency's Ring Rail Line project. The city of Vantaa is responsible for other construction projects at the station.
