Seats with power sockets
Train journeys pass comfortably by relaxing or working. To make working onboard easier VR has increased the number of in-seat power sockets available in InterCity and Pendolino trains to charge e.g. laptops or mobile phones.
Long-distance passenger coaches are equipped with power sockets as follows:
- Pendolino trains are being fitted with additional power sockets. After 2009 every seat has an in-seat power outlet.
- InterCity and InterCity2 trains have power sockets in working compartments, family compartments, on the intermediate deck and in all single and double deck coaches so that there is one power socket for every two seats. Some double-deck coaches have in-seat power outlets at every seat.
- Day express trains have power sockets in some coaches at seats by a table.
- Blue sleeping-cars in night have power sockets for shaver use only. New double-deck sleeping cars have power sockets suitable for powering laptops and charging mobile phones. There may, however, be breaks in the power supply.
