GSM audibility
In all new and reconditioned cars, e.g. Pendolino and InterCity trains, mobile phone audibility has been amplified. Please use the mobile phone booths whenever available in the trains.
- In Pendolino trains GSM audibility has been improved in all cars
- In InterCity2 trains GSM audibility has been improved in business class, on the lower and mezzanine levels of the trains, and in the mobile phone booth on the upper level.
- In new doubledeck sleeping-cars GSM repeaters cover the entire cars.
- In express and regional trains audibility has not been amplified.
Mobile phone audibility locally deteriorates by, e.g. tunnels, rock cuttings, bad weather conditions and jammed simultaneous mobile phone use.
Mobile phone audibility in trains has been developed over quite a long time in cooperation with TeliaSonera and Elisa. In view of improved audibility in tunnels, VR also cooperates with the Finnish Rail Administration.
