Mobile ticket

You can now order tickets also to your mobile phone. Buy mobile tickets online, from ticket offices, ticket vending machines, sales agents or by phone from VR Customer Care.

You can receive the new mobile ticket to your mobile phone equipped with an Internet connection. Now several persons can share the same ticket which can also be a return ticket and include a transfer.

Please note! The above tickets can be purchased also from other purchasing locations but then you cannot get them to your mobile phone (mobile ticket).

Where to buy a mobile ticket?

  • Online Shop: Select mobile ticket in the Online Shop. You get a confirmation to your e-mail if you enter your e-mail address.
  • Station ticket offices: Tell the service agent that you want to receive the ticket to your mobile phone. You get a confirmation to your e-mail if you state also your e-mail address.
  • VR Customer Care: You can now buy a mobile ticket also by calling VR Customer Care and pay with a Credit/Debit card during the call. Tell the service agent that you want to receive the ticket to your mobile phone. You can also state your e-mail address to receive the confirmation to your e-mail.

How to use a mobile ticket?

You get an SMS to your mobile phone (requires an Internet connection, see how to use below).The train ticket is viewable through the link in the SMS. Open the link before the journey and make sure that it works.Show the ticket to the conductor who will read the bar code in the ticket with a reader.

The message sent to your mobile phone is as seen below. Click on the link before the journey and make sure that it works. Open the ticket onboard the train before the conductor arrives.

How to save your mobile ticket in your phone

When you have opened the mobile ticket before the journey many phones give you the option of saving the page or the picture in the phone's memory. This way the ticket is always accessible during the journey even if the link in the original SMS does not open due to for instance a weak telephone signal.

Can I use the mobile ticket in my phone?

You can order the mobile train ticket to most of the latest models. To open the link in the SMS you phone has to fulfil the following requirements:

  • screen size must be larger than 160 x 120 pixels
  • the phone and the subscriber connection (SIM card) must have data transfer capability and an Internet connectionthe
