Among the musts, there is of course the Red Square by the Kremlin wall, St. Vasil's Cathedral and the Lenin Mausoleum which with its granite walls does not boast a very handsome appearance but whose interior is everso more imposing. Present-day Moscow is a shopping paradise with a steep increase in new shopping centers over the past years. Beside the famous GUM department store, there are now many other modern shopping centers. For traditional objects and handicraft products, the markets in Moscow are ideal, e.g. the well-known Izmaylov market has fine wooden objects, linen and Russian crystal on sale.

The Kremlin

The Kremlin is the heart of Moscow; it includes several churches, palaces and other buildings. The Kremlin displays a splendour of jewels and the thrones of the tsars.
