Itinerary

In Helsinki the train departs from Helsinki central railway station. The first stops are at Pasila and Tikkurila. The Allegro then stops at Lahti and Kouvola before crossing the border at Vainikkala. After crossing the border the train stops at Vyborg. The arrival station in St. Petersburg is the Finland station (Finljandski vokzal).

Customs and border checks
In Finland customs and border checks are conducted onboard the train between Helsinki and Vainikkala. In Russia customs and border checks are conducted between St. Petersburg and Vyborg.
Please note. When travelling from Vainikkala passengers go through border and customs controls before boarding the train. Therefore individual Allegro passengers must arrive at the station 30 minutes before the train's departure at the latest and passengers part of a group of over 10 persons 40 minutes before the train's departure at the latest.
Passengers travelling on Tolstoi must arrive at the station 40 minutes and passengers travelling in a group 50 minutes before the the train's departure from Vainikkala at the latest.

Bistro Allegro
Opens after departure from Helsinki and stays open until the train arrives in Vyborg. The restaurant opens after departure from Vyborg after the border and customs formalities have been completed. Please note that in particular during peak periods the formalities may take such a long time that you do not have time to go to the restaurant while the train is in Russia.
You can go to the restaurant after departure from St. Petersburg when you have undergone the customs and border formalities. The restaurant is closed for a moment before the train arrives at Vainikkala.

Currency exchange and tax-free refunds
You can exchange currency and get tax-free refunds while the train is in Finland. Currency exchange stops at Vainikkala on Russia-bound journeys which means that passengers boarding the train at Vainikkala may not exchange currency onboard the train.

Please note!
Keep your passport and ticket with you at all times during the journey - also when moving about in the train. The conductors inspect your ticket during the journey. Please remember to fill in the required border crossing forms.
