Bicycle and Ski transport

Bicycles and skis are accepted for transportation in trains, as far as possible. The spaces designed for their transportation differ as per train category.

Bicycle transports in long-distance services

Bicycle transportation on Helsinki Region commuter trains

• You can transport bicycles and skis free of charge on commuter trains in HSL area.
• In the zone area transport of bicycles is subject to a €4.20 transport fees. Pay the fee to the conductor.
• When travelling to Kirkkonummi or Kerava the charge is not collected when travelling with an HSL ticket.
• Bicycles may not be transported during rush-hours Mon-Fri 7.00-9.00 or 15.00-18.00.
• Kickbikes are equalled with bicycles.
  

Ski transports in long-distance services

In long-distance trains in day cars

• in express and regional trains in luggage van €5/ski bag; in passenger-car hat rack, if free space is available, free of charge
• In InterCity trains coin (50 cent) locking ski racks in IC service car, for five pairs of skis and two snowboards. (Coin returned.)No advance reservations are accepted.
• In Pendolino trains as hand luggage free of charge
• In railcars as hand luggage free of charge

In night train

• in luggage van €5/ski bag
• in new sleeping-cars, under the bed, or in end compartments, as fastened on the wall with straps, free of charge
  

When ski bags are carried in a luggage van, the transport price may be paid in a VR station booking office or to the on-board conductor.

Ski transport in commuter trains

In commuter trains skis may be transported as hand luggage free of charge.
