Exceptional arrangements as due to track work

There is a large quantity of track work causing disruptions on the rail network in 2013. Services are partly replaced by buses and some train services are cancelled. The service alterations are due to track work conducted by the Finnish Transport Agency.

Tikkurila

Platform construction will cause changes in departure tracks as of 17 June, 2013 as follows:

• 17 June - 20 Sept.: Track 3 is closed to traffic. All northbound long-distance trains and H, R, and Z trains will use track 2.
• 17 June Service on tracks 4 and 5 will return to normal. The K, N, and T trains will use track 4 again, and I trains will again be using track 5.

Tampere–Pori

12 August-5 December 2013

Tampere-Pori line: six train services are replaced by buses due to track work from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 16.00.

Tampere-Pori

• Trains H461 (8.07), H465 (12.07) and H467 (14.10) are replaced by buses
• The services are replaced by two buses
• One of the buses runs via intermediate stations (Nokia, Karkku, Vammala, Kokemäki and Harjavalta)
• The other bus runs directly to Pori
• Both buses depart at the train’s departure time

Pori-Tampere

• Trains IC166 (7.08), H464 (10.06) and H468 (14.06) are replaced by buses
• The services are replaced by two buses
• One of the buses departs at the train’s departure time and runs directly to Tampere.
• The other bus service runs via intermediate stations (Harjavalta, Kokemäki, Vammala, Karkku, Nokia) departs from Pori and intermediate stations around an hour before the normal rail service departure time.
• There are connecting services from the buses at Tampere in a number of directions.
  

Travel times differ from the normal train timetable. The replacement services depart form train stations, except in Karkku, where the buses stop at the bus stops at the intersection of Maakunnantie and Asemantie roads. All valid VR regional and long-distance tickets are valid on replacement buses.

Only hand luggage may be transported.

Kokkola and Oulu

on Saturdays 31 August, 14 and 28 September, 5 and 26 October

On Seinäjoki-Kokkola line all day trains are replaced by buses due to track work:
Kokkola-Oulu/Oulu-Kokkola 31 August, 14 and 28 September, 5 and 26 October 2013.

• Buses operate according to timetables which differ from train timetables.
• The connecting services south from Kokkola and north from Oulu are only on the next scheduled rail services.

• Friday 13 September Helsinki-Rovaniemi 21.52 night Express train P 273
• Saturday 14 September Rovaniemi-Helsinki 18.10 night Express train P 266
  

Finland - Russia

Helsinki -St. Petersburg, 1-29 September

On Sundays 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 September, the first morning Allegro trains from Helsinki to St. Petersburg at 6.12 and from St. Petersburg to Helsinki at 6.40 will be cancelled due to track work between Lahti and Luumäki.
